ENVIRONMENTAL ATTORNEY NICK GLADDING JOINS RUDEN McCLOSKY AS A PARTNER IN SARASOTA

Sarasota  The Law Firm of Ruden McClosky is pleased to announce that attorney Nicholas C. Gladding has joined the Firm as a partner. Mr. Gladding is resident in the firm's Sarasota office located at 1515 Ringling Blvd.

A member of the firm's Environmental Law Practice Group, Mr. Gladding focuses on environmental counseling, permitting, enforcement defense and litigation. With more than 20 years of experience in 30-plus states and most EPA regions, he has been involved in major civil cases, high-profile criminal investigations, and complex regulatory and dispute resolution proceedings. Mr. Gladding also has been significantly involved in state legislative lobbying efforts in ten states. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, as well as small businesses and individuals in diverse environmental proceedings. Mr. Gladding received his Bachelor's degree (B.A., 1967) from Yale University and his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School (J.D., 1970). He then served four years in the United States Navy Judge Advocate's General Corps and was an instructor of military law and procedure at the U.S. Naval Justice School.

For the past several years, Mr. Gladding has been representing retailers and property landowners and developers, both nationally, and in Florida, and providing environmental compliance counseling and environmental due diligence.

Mr. Gladding is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, various other federal courts, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Gladding is AV(R) rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Missouri Bar, and the Connecticut Bar. He is also a member of the American Bar Association Section on Environment, Energy and Resources. Mr. Gladding is a founding member of SCOPE (Sarasota County Openly Plans for Excellence) and is a current member of the Board of Directors.
