RUDEN McCLOSKY ATTORNEY APPOINTED BY GOVERNOR TO THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY EXPRESSWAY AUTHORITY

Miami  Carlos A. Lacasa, an attorney in the Miami office of Ruden McClosky, was recently appointed to a four-year term on the Miami-Dade County Expressway Authority (MDX) by Governor Jeb Bush. He succeeds Mr. Allen Harper. As a Director of the Authority, Lacasa will participate in the expansion, planning and management of the MDX system. The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority is an independent agency created in 1994 by the state of Florida and the Miami-Dade County Commission. MDX has oversight for, operates and maintains five expressways: State Road 924 (Gratigny Parkway), State Road 112 (Airport Expressway), State Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway), State Road 874 (Don Shula Expressway), and State Road 878 (Snapper Creek Expressway).

Lacasa is a former member of the Florida House of Representatives (District 117). He is a member of the Firm's Administrative and Governmental Practice Group and concentrates his practice in governmental relations, land use, general corporate, regulatory and administrative law. Representative Lacasa was first elected in 1994 and chaired the House General Appropriations Committee from 2000 to 2002. Mr. Lacasa is a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.
