PARTNER TERRENCE RUSSELL ASSUMES PRESIDENCY OF FLORIDA BAR FOUNDATION

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Fort Lauderdale attorney Terrence Russell, a partner of the Ruden McClosky law firm, recently assumed the office of president of The Florida Bar Foundation. Russell previously served as the Foundation's secretary and treasurer. He was first appointed to the Foundation's voluntary board of directors in 1992 by the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar.

Mr. Russell's primary goal as president of the Foundation will be to increase state funding for civil legal assistance and revenue from Florida's IOTA program that also supports free civil legal services for the poor.

The Florida Bar Foundation is a philanthropic organization established in 1956 by Florida lawyers and the Supreme Court of Florida to provide greater access to justice. It is the only statewide organization that provides financial support for legal aid and promotes improvements in addressing the civil legal needs of the poor.

Mr. Russell is double Board Certified in Civil Trial and Business Litigation law. He specializes in complex commercial litigation including foreclosures, anti-trust securities and product liability defense. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association (ABA) and is a past president of The Florida Bar. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1968 from Florida State University College of Law.
