MICHAEL LOWE ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE EMERGENCY MEDICINE LEARNING & RESOURCE CENTER (EMLRC)

Michael R. Lowe, a Partner in the Orlando office, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center (EMLRC). Part of the Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation, this new international training facility in Orlando will provide targeted education and research support for emergency care providers worldwide through state-of-the-art conference facilities, labs and distance learning technology. The Center aims to continuously enhance the quality of health care by ensuring that emergency care providers are equipped with the most advanced knowledge and skills to care for each and every individual who has an emergency.

The Board of Directors will help to evaluate local, state, national and international emergency care health delivery systems and create new models and programs to benefit patients and providers alike. 'Michael Lowe's addition to the EMLRC Board will provide us with leadership and direction in formulating both our short- and long-term program needs,' said EMLRC Chief Executive Officer Beth Bruner.

A member of the Health Law Practice Group, Mr. Lowe concentrates his practice in the representation of physicians and physician group practices in business, transactional, litigation, professional licensure, regulatory, operational and administrative matters. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (B.S., with distinction, 1988) and Georgetown University (M.A., with honors, 1989), and received his law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude, 1996). Mr. Lowe also volunteers on the board of the Greater Orlando Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Dean's Advisory Council for the University of Central Florida College of Health Sciences and Public Affairs, the myregion.org Healthcare Implementation Team, the Executive Committee of the 2004 Orlando Heart Ball for the American Heart Association, and as a member of the 100 Delegates to the Healthy Florida Foundation. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association, Health Law Section; American Health Lawyers Association; Georgia Bar Association, Health Law Section; The Florida Bar, Health Law Section; and the Orange County Bar Association.
