DAVID BERNSTEIN CLOSES $500 MILLION REAL ESTATE TRANSACTION
January 5, 2004TAMPA --David Bernstein, a partner with the law firm of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A., recently served as Florida counsel in the acquisition of Chateau Communities, Inc., the largest owner and operator of manufactured home communities in the U.S., by Hometown America, L.L.C., one of the nation's largest privately-held owners and operators of manufactured home communities. The combined company now has a portfolio of 261 communities with over 88,000 sites, located in 34 states. The Florida portion of the deal was valued at over half a billion dollars and included over fifty properties throughout the State.
Mr. Bernstein concentrates his practice in the area of commercial real estate and finance with a special focus on mobile home communities. As part of his active practice, Mr. Bernstein has been legal counsel in over $1.5 billion dollars in commercial real estate transactions. He frequently closes deals involving manufactured housing communities and land use changes and regularly conducts seminars on real estate acquisition and development, leasing, legal compliance and land use changes for developers, lending institutions, cooperatives and members of the Florida Bar Association.
