December 16, 2003FT. LAUDERDALE - The Firm is pleased to announce that Kenneth Curtin, Matthew Nelles, Jennifer Robinson, Charles Klug and Guilene Theodore have been named partners of the Firm. Their admission is effective January 1, 2004. Ms. Theodore and Mr. Klug are resident in the Firm's Tampa office, 401 East Jackson Street. Mr. Curtin, Mr. Nelles and Ms. Robinson are resident in the Firm's Ft. Lauderdale office, 200 E. Broward Blvd.
Ms. Theodore (University of Florida, B.A., 1980; University of Florida School of Law, J.D., 1990) concentrates her practice in the representation of clients in local government law. She is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a City, County and Local Government Law specialist. Ms. Theodore participated in Harvard University's Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives and is certified as a Circuit Court Civil Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court. She has also been trained in the mediation of governmental issues and in the design of alternative dispute resolution systems.
Mr. Klug (University of Florida, B.S., with honors, 1983; University of Florida School of Law, J.D., 1986) has extensive experience representing governmental authorities and private sector clients in commercial real estate transactions, local government procurement, construction contracting, land use regulation and sovereign submerged lands matters. He has been Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Real Estate Law since 1993 and in City, County and Local Government Law since 1998.
Mr. Curtin (University of South Florida, B.A., magna cum laude, 1991; University of Florida School of Law, J.D., Order of the Coif, 1996; M.B.A., Florida Atlantic University, 1999) concentrates his practice in commercial construction and general civil litigation. A member of The Florida and New York Bars, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Broward and Palm Beach County Bar Associations, the Institute of International Business Law & Practice and the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County.
Mr. Nelles (Rutgers University, College of Engineering, B.S., 1989; Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, J.D., magna cum laude, 1994) represents clients in all aspects of commercial litigation, including business, contract, and real estate disputes. Mr. Nelles also does trademark, copyright, and patent litigation. He represents clients in state and federal court, as well as in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Mr. Nelles is a registered patent attorney.
Ms. Robinson (University of Florida, B.S., 1984; Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, J.D., summa cum laude, 1996) concentrates her practice representing individual and institutional clients in the areas of estate, trust and guardianship administration, general estate planning and litigation arising out of estates, trusts and guardianships. A member of the Junior League of Fort Lauderdale, she previously served as General Counsel for Winterfest, Inc. (1999 2000).
