STEVEN SIEGEL PUBLISHED IN ATLANTIC COAST IN-HOUSE

MIAMI  Stephen H. Siegel, Esq., a partner in the law firm of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A., authored an article, 'Developing Effective Compliance Plans Critical to Companies," for the October 2003 edition of Atlantic Coast In-House. A quarterly publication directed to in-house counsel in MD, DE, DC, VA, NC, SC, GA and FL, this publication features articles addressing the specific needs of in-house lawyers with easy-to-read information and practice tips.

Board-Certified by The Florida Bar as a Health Law Attorney, Mr. Siegel concentrates his practice in representing individual physicians, group practices, clinical laboratories, home health agencies, nursing homes, managed care plans and other parties in the health care industry. He also assists clients in structuring business relationships that satisfy the requirements of HIPPA, the Florida Patient Self Referral Act, the Medicare and Medicaid Anti-Fraud and Abuse Amendments, the so-called "Stark II" amendments and other fraud, and abuse and payment restrictions. Mr. Siegel also represents parties in the health care industry who are being investigated by the Office of Inspector General, Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Florida Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, the Office of the Statewide Prosecutor, private insurers, etc.

Mr. Siegel received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Past chairman of The Florida Bar Health Law Section, he is a member of the National Health Lawyers Association and a frequent lecturer on a variety of health law topics.
