SARASOTA ATTORNEY APPOINTED TO THE STETSON LAWYERS ASSOCIATION (SLA) ADVISORY COUNCIL

TAMPA  Karen M. Morinelli, an attorney in the Sarasota office of the law firm Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A., has been appointed to the Stetson Lawyers Association (SLA) Advisory Council of the Stetson University College of Law. The SLA Advisory Council was established to enhance the advancement of Stetson University College of Law and to serve in an advisory capacity by providing insight to the Dean.

A frequent speaker on human resources law and alternative dispute resolution, Ms. Morinelli is a former General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources for both national and international corporations and former Assistant County Attorney. She has extensive experience in labor contract negotiation and interpretation, grievance procedures and arbitrations, alternative dispute resolution and employment-related litigation including issues such as discrimination, civil rights, wrongful termination and hiring. She also has experience in all aspects of employment relations, benefits, recruiting, development and training.

A graduate of Stetson University College of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1989), Ms. Morinelli is a member of The Florida Bar and the Florida Bar Section of Labor & Employment; the District of Columbia Court of Appeals; The Bar of The Supreme Court of the United States; the American Bar Association (Labor & Employment Section and EEO Committee and ADR Section); the Sarasota County Bar Association; the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Bar Association and the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators. She is also a member and secretary of the Board of Directors of the Longboat Bay Club, Treasurer of the West Central Florida Chapter of the Industrial Relations Research Association and an advisor to the Diocese of Venice Criminal Justice Ministry.
