Training & Mentoring

At Ruden McClosky, we recognize that the success of our firm depends upon our attorneys’ success as professionals and as individuals.  While we recruit accomplished and well-rounded law students and laterals that is just the beginning. Through effective training and mentoring programs, our goal is to help develop outstanding lawyers who will achieve their career goals, contribute to the success of the firm and seek meaningful involvement in the community.

Training & Professional Development

Our training programs include both internal and external programs -- from initial orientation to subjects ranging from practice management business development, and personnel management, as well as continuing legal education seminars.  All attorneys benefit from formal ongoing training programs combined with active mentoring by the senior attorneys and partners of the firm.

Semi- Annual Associate Seminars offer full-day programs on a wide variety of topics that benefit attorneys’ professional development. Seminars are combined with a variety of social functions that allow attorneys to meet and interact with their peers, senior associates, partners and firm management.

Practice Group Meetings offer attorneys the opportunity to meet other attorneys within their practice, share information, identify opportunities for collaboration and business development, and to contribute to client publications or pursue speaking engagements.

Community Involvement is integral to the development of well-rounded professionals. Our attorneys are encouraged to participate in and pursue leadership roles in community initiatives, and they are assisted in identifying appropriate organizations for their involvement.

Mentoring

Our Mentoring program is based upon a one-on-one relationship between each new attorney and a senior associate or partner mentor.  Upon joining our firm, the new associate and their mentor establish goals and an appropriate training plan. Regular evaluation and feedback is provided to help the associate correct any deficiencies, recognize and build upon key strengths, and develop new goals for ongoing professional development.
