Mr. McClosky’s area of practice includes administrative, governmental, land use and zoning law. He has practiced in these areas for more than 45 years, representing clients in obtaining approvals for many large developments. Mr. McClosky is considered one of the preeminent land use and zoning lawyers in the nation.

Mr. McClosky has extensive experience in developments of regional impact (DRIs) and planned unit developments (PUDs), as well as in sewer and water utilities work. He has represented clients before all levels of government in such varied matters as land use plan changes, permitting, zoning, rezoning, variances, hazardous waste, the environment, wetlands and concurrency.  

Mr. McClosky has served on the Board of Supervisors of the West Lauderdale Water Control District, is a past member of the Advisory Board of Lawyers Title Service, Inc. (now Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund) and is a member of the Board of Directors of City National Bank of Florida. He is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, The Florida Bar and American Bar Association.  

Mr. McClosky is an ongoing participant in Broward County Land Use Plan and Land Development Code revision workshops and hearings. He is included in the book, Best Lawyers in America.  

Mr. McClosky is a native Floridian and a lifetime resident of South Florida.
