Ms. Geller represents both large and small private corporations, public companies and partnerships in contract negotiations, employment matters, receivables financing, franchise law issues, and general corporate matters. She also represents clients in negotiating, structuring and documenting the purchase or sale of a business.
Representing management, she has counseled clients on a variety of labor matters including the defense of sexual harassment charges and employment discrimination (race, sex, age, national origin, religion, and disability) lawsuits, "Independent Contractor" issues, unemployment agreements and covenants not to compete, unemployment compensation filings, and preparation of employee policy handbooks. Ms. Geller also has experience advising clients on union disputes and has successfully represented companies that have opposed union representation and decertified unions.
Ms. Geller has represented employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Human Rights Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and various arbitration associations.
Ms. Geller's career has focused on serving public and private companies in-house. In her experience as General Counsel, she has had hands-on experience in managing the daily legal and risk management affairs of several service businesses in the propane gas, medical and insurance industries. Ms. Geller's in-house experience has given her the insight to understand client's needs from an inside perspective. She understands the time requirements and demands that corporations and entrepreneurs have for business-minded solutions.
For over eight years prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Geller served as General Counsel for a large publicly traded company in the staffing and funding industry which provided a variety of employment services to more than 65,000 people nationally. As one of the largest growing industries in the country, it is presently a $72 billion industry. As General Counsel, she supervised all legal and risk management functions of the company including all corporate and employment law matters, workers' compensation insurance issues, and all questions relating to the funding of independent staffing services.
