As a member of Ruden McClosky's Intellectual Property Practice Group, Mr. Blacklock's practice consists primarily of representing corporate clients in the development, protection and exploitation of various forms of intellectual property assets, with an emphasis on software licensing. Mr. Blacklock has extensive experience in the acquisition and disposition of patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and other intellectual property rights. He has drafted and negotiated a wide-array of contracts, including alliance, inbound & outbound distribution, open source, works-for-hire, warrant, branding, non-disclosure, service, marketing, joint-venture, outsourcing, and consortium agreements. Mr. Blacklock also regularly assists entrepreneurs and emerging companies with the capitalization, formation, and restructuring of business entities.
Mr. Blacklock is also a member of Ruden McClosky's Real Estate Practice Group, where he concentrates on counseling tenants, property owners and management companies in structuring, documentation, and negotiation of retail, office, and industrial leases and related build-out, management and occupancy agreements. In addition to his lease-related endeavors, he routinely directs commercial and high net-worth residential clients in the purchase and sale of real property investment portfolios, including financing, contract negotiation, title review and site due diligence. Mr. Blacklock also frequently works with borrowers and lenders in document creation, closing coordination and loan workouts.
