Mr. Elk focuses his practice in the areas of commercial real estate acquisitions, development financing, leasing and disposition, residential real estate, finance and business transactions. Specifically, his practice includes commercial and residential real estate, borrower and lender representation for loans and commercial finance, and corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and sales.
Knowledge and experience in a broad scope of transactions provide him with the ability to assist clients in complex commercial real estate transactions and residential closings.
Mr. Elk's work with a variety of corporate entities and representation of national and regionally based clients has afforded him extensive experience involving shopping centers, office buildings, mixed-use developments, industrial projects, and multiple location transactions.
His combination of legal expertise and a solid accounting background assist him in analyzing important business and legal issues from a project's earliest stages of contracting and due diligence to final development, construction, leasing or sale.
Uniquely, Mr. Elk brings in-depth insight on land use, planning and development from his years of service in municipal attorney positions with several planning and zoning boards, as well as code enforcement boards. This experience has also resulted in Mr. Elk being selected as a title agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company and Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund, Inc.
