Mr. Paoli Carias concentrates his legal practice in corporate law and also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, maritime, foreign investment law, public credit law, tax law matters and financial transactions. As part of his practice, Mr. Paoli works as a transactional lawyer representing local as well as international clients and has represented the Republic of Venezuela in various international matters. He has been a Professor of Law in Maritime Law at the graduate level since 1996 at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Paoli Carias worked in the BecoBlohm Organization in Venezuela while working for O'Neil, Eichin, Miller & Brekinridge law firm in New Orleans. He was one of the founding partners at Perez-Luna, Paoli, Planchart & Asociados in Caracas.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Mr. Paoli Carias was a member of the board of directors of Venepal SACA, Venepal Stone Forestal (Venestone) until 2002, and Chairman of the Board of Best Western CCT until 2005. He is a member of the board at Centro Ciudad Comercial Tamanaco CCCT, Estacecete, Intermodal Depositos y Almacenes (IDASA), Bencorp Casa de Bolsa Universal, Produmilk CA. He is an active member of VenAmCham's Legal Affairs committee and of the International Bar Association.
