Ms. Cox, Principal of Ruden McClosky Consulting. She has over 15 years of legislative experience representing clients in both the public and private sector. Ms. Cox represents a wide array of clients with many diverse issues including health care professionals, health care facilities, pharmaceutical industry, landlord/tenant legislation, condominium legislation, tax issues, tobacco industry, budget requests and other legislative and regulatory issues in Tallahassee.
Ms. Cox represents clients before the Governor and Cabinet, Department Secretaries and staff, Florida House, Florida Senate, and various administrative agencies and regulatory boards including the Public Service Commission. She also keeps clients informed of new legislative and regulatory revisions that will directly impact their business.
Throughout the state, Ms. Cox is involved in campaigns for statewide, congressional and legislative candidates. Her involvement includes assisting candidates with fundraising, spending personal time with candidates walking door to door for votes and grassroots organization of key issues critical to a candidate's platform. Her involvement and reputation has earned trust and respect by members of the Florida Legislative and Executive branches.
Ms. Cox is the former Legislative Affairs Director for the Agency for Health Care Administration. She has served as Vice President of Harris Management Group, a lobbyist for Hopping Boyd Green and Sams law firm and President of Berneice Cox & Associates. Ms. Cox has also served as an adjunct professor on the faculty of Florida State University teaching government and political classes to students majoring in Communications and Political Science.
