Mr. Silber concentrates his practice in business and corporate law, real estate, and complex business and financing transactions. He has extensive experience in the negotiation, structuring and preparation of documentation for most corporate and real estate transactions including asset acquisitions and sales; financing, refinancing and permanent financing for acquisitions, construction and development; financing modifications and loan workouts; and real estate and equipment leasing activities. His practice also includes syndications and joint ventures; corporate formations, mergers, acquisitions and dissolutions; limited partnership and LLC formations and ongoing activities; and unsecured borrowing and lending. He has been a frequent lecturer on the negotiation of documentation for financing transactions.
He has represented various parties in numerous and varied corporate and real estate transactions and in litigation pertaining to corporate, finance and real estate matters. Prior to concentrating his practice exclusively on transactional matters, Mr. Silber had significant litigation experience, with bench and jury trials in state and federal court, as well as with appeals briefed and argued in state and federal appellate courts. Mr. Silber has also had extensive experience with the federal and state securities laws, including preparation of registered and exempt offerings, registrant disclosure issues, broker-dealer registrations and compliance, and antifraud litigation.
Before entering the private practice of law, Mr. Silber served as an officer of Fiduciary Trust Company of New York (now called Fiduciary Trust International) and of a Florida-based public real estate syndicator that is now a successful public savings and loan holding company.
Mr. Silber served two terms as chair of a grievance committee for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. He has been actively involved in various civic affairs and is a past-President South Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
